Powell and Wolfgang Tillmans be a part of forces on new collaborative EP

Powell and Wolfgang Tillmans are becoming a member of forces to launch a brand new EP titled ‘Spoken By The Other’ XL Recordings.

The pair first met on the Tate Modern again in 2017, when up to date artist Tillmans was programming a slew of performances to coincide together with his exhibition on the London gallery. From there, Tillmans went on to direct visuals for Powell’s 2017 monitor ‘Freezer’.

However on the brand new collaboration, the duo come collectively as Powell Tillmans to merge Tillmans' vocals merge with Powell’s productions. ‘Spoken By The Other’ was recorded between Berlin, London and Turin, with the pair performing a reside A/V present collectively within the Italian metropolis ultimately yr’s version of Club To Club.

London-based artist Powell is not any stranger to XL Recordings, with a slew of releases on the label through the years alongside releases on his personal imprint Diagonal Records. Meanwhile Tillmans is internationally recognised for his numerous inventive endeavours. Musically, the Turner Prize-winning artist and designer has launched a string of digital music choices lately, together with his monitor ‘Device Control’ closing Frank Ocean’s visible album ‘Endless’.

“I feel loads of Wolfgang's work is to do with vulnerability,” says Powell a press launch. “Recording the EP was nearly the method of dropping the expectations that may be positioned upon myself. People have described it as a susceptible file, and that transparency and honesty is how I felt making it. It made me really feel very out of my consolation zone, however I feel working with Wolfgang has pushed me to belief myself extra. To really feel extra.”
