Stormzy’s "Vossi Bop" Beats Taylor Swift’s "ME!" For #1 On U.K. Charts

Stormzy's officially back with his new first single since the release of his debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer. "Vossi Bop" arrived last week with a music video that arrived shortly after. Another artist who came with a new single last week after a lengthy hiatus is Taylor Swift who dropped her single, "ME!" featuring Brenden Urie of Panic! At The Disco. However, it looks like the global icon that is Taylor Swift couldn't beat out the Wickedest Skengman on the U.K. charts.

The Swifties did not put in that work overseas apparently as Taylor Swift's latest single took a backseat to both Stormzy and Lil Nas X's latest releases. The Grime superstar's latest single, "Vossi Bop" shattered the U.K.'s weekly streaming record for a rap song with 12.7M listens. "Words don't really do it justice. My supporters have had my back like crazy - this is all you guys, thank you so much," he told the Official Charts company about his latest #1.

Taylor Swift's latest single sits at #3 on the chart since Lil Nas X's global anthem, "Old Town Road" has been dominating the charts around the world including in America where it's sat at #1 for four weeks straight.

Despite taking the third spot on the U.K. charts, the charts aren't everything to Swizzy, who said that she adores the grime MC. “I love Stormzy. I’d happily lose to him," she said on BBC Radio 1.
