Anthony Anderson & Dave East To Star In Netflix Film "Beats" On Chicago Rap Scene
Black-ish actor Anthony Anderson is making his next move with Netflix to star in an original film about an up-and-coming Chicago rapper and a disgraced music manager. Debut actor Khalil Everage will pay the 17-year-old rapper while Anthony will play the manager. The two come together as their past collides in an unknown way and they help each overcome their demons to succeed.
Other acts set to co-star in the movie are Uzo Aduba, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Paul Walter Hauser and hip-hop artists Dave East and Dreezy. There's no word on when the film will hit Netflix, but seeing as the streaming platform is set to have 1,000 Originals on the platform by the end the year it may very well arrive sooner than later, or at least a trailer.
Speaking Netflix, Chris Rock recently shared his opinion on the Obama's landing a Netflix deal. "I don't want to live in a world where President Obama is worried about his Rotten Tomatoes score," Chris explained. "I want him above that at all times. Make your money, but I don't want him] to be involved with that."
