Buku Introduces Calvin Stanley, His Techno Alter-Ego

Buku finally unveiled his long-awaited techno project.

For some time now, the veteran bass producer has been quietly performing rare techno sets for lucky fans. Most were unable to catch one due to their scarcity, but the time has finally come for the world to get a glimpse of his newly minted alter ego, Calvin Stanley.

Seeing as Calvin Stanley is not his real name, Buku took to Twitter to shed some light on the new project and explain the meaning behind the moniker, which lends to his "perfect vision of techno." He chose it as an ode to his late grandfather, a "stoic individual, with a bit of underlying funk" with whom he says he had a lot in common.

Later on, Buku would share another series of notes thanking fans and his colleagues for all the support he received after his announcement. At the time of writing, he has not announced the impending release of any Calvin Stanley tracks, but he did share the link to a Bandcamp page for the alias.

Stanley will make his official debut on Saturday, May 27th at DEF's Memory Palace Takeover during Movement Music Festival alongside Of The Trees, Freddy Todd, Mary Droppinz and QURL.
