Childish Gambino's "This Is America" Aims For Major Debut On Billboard Hot 100
The past few days have been nothing but solid for Childish Gambino. The creative genius held down hosting duties and debuted two new songs including "This Is America." Shortly after, he unveiled the music video which has been receiving unanimous critical acclaim across the board. It's been over three days since it's release and it has maintained the number one spot on YouTube's trending list. It's now being predicted that it'll end up making a major debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
Childish Gambino's single, "This Is America" is looking to make a major debut on the Billboard Hot 100. According to Billboard, "America" is aiming to debut within the top five on the chart. Neilson Music Data and their music industry forecasters say that the song has already received over 20M streams in the U.S. and 2M in radio airplay. The song has also sold over 50K downloads since it's release.
If their prediction is true, this will be his highest charting song to date. "Redbone" peaked at no. 12 on the Hot 100 by last August which stood as his fourth entry on the chart.
"This Is America" also serves as his first release since signing to RCA Records. Young Thug recently said that Childish Gambino's next album will be his last. He also confirmed that he'll be featured on the project.
