DJ Snake and 3LAU Called Out For Buying Fake Followers In NY Times Exposé

This past weekend, the New York Times post an article titled The Follower Factory – an exposé an American company called Devumi that sells Twitter followers and bots that will automatically retweet celebrities, executives, musicians, and social media influencers.

Twitter records show that 330 million active users post 500 million tweets every day. Are those Twitter users real or are they bots? For Devumi's 200,000 customers, the majority are not.

While the New York Times exposé calls out only a few their high-prile customers, two Devumi's clients were both 3LAU and DJ Snake.

Mr. Blau said a former member his management team bought them without his approval, while DJ Snake's team told the Times that the purchase followers was made by a former manager.
