DJs, producers and other music industry members will partake in the annual Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) CYCLE to raise money for refugees fleeing Ukraine.
The music industry will cycle the 300-mile journey from London to Amsterdam in an effort to raise funds for those affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This year’s cycle, hosted by charity Bridges For Music, will be the event’s sixth edition. The proceeds will go to the charity Choose Love, which will use the funds to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine refugees. The cycle ride is also in collaboration with Pioneer DJ, who are offering cyclists the chance to wear Pioneer DJ Kits
The four-day ride will kick off in London on October 16 and will pass through France, Belgium and the southern parts of the Netherlands before arriving at their final destination on October 19. Known for attracting well-known figures in previous years such as James Haskell, Richie Hawtin, and Joris Voorn, as well as riders from music companies such as Beatport, Pioneer, and Awakenings, this year’s ADE CYCLE event participants include artists Msak, Rebekah and Dope Saint Jude, as well as industry figures from SONOS, Parlophone and more to be announced.
This year marks the first full ADE festival and conference since 2019. The 2020 edition of the event was forced to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 2021 edition was limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Although the conference was completely closed in 2021, some music events were carried out at a reduced capacity. Last year’s ADE CYCLE was also limited to Amsterdam only due to restrictions. In order to take part in this year’s cycling event, riders must sign up at an early bird cost of €800, which includes accommodation, breakfast, energy snacks, an official ADE kit, bike return to London, luggage transport, a welcome lunch at ADE, and an ADE pro pass (worth €525).
