Eminem Challenges Comedian Chris D’Elia To A Rap Battle
Logic and Eminem are fresh off their recent collaboration, "Homicide" which dropped on Friday. The single, although met with a mixed reaction from fans, has been making waves over the past few days and will likely mark another top 10 hit for both Logic and Eminem. As the two continue to promote the single, Em took to Twitter to call out comedian Chris D'Elia for a rap battle.
Chris D'Elia has made his name in the world on comedy and television. He's appeared in NBC's Whitney and ABC's The Good Doctor but he gained the attention of the hip-hop community after he did a spot-on impression of Eminem. The clip was recently served as the outro to Eminem and Logic's "Homicide" collaboration."
Earlier today, Em took to Twitter to promote the single while jokingly putting the pressure on D'Elia for a rap battle. "Me and @chrisdelia are going to battle one day," he wrote along with a clip of the song. Delia quickly accepted the challenge on Instagram. "Slim Shady himself called me out?! I accept! Swipe left," he wrote along with two pictures -- one of which is a selfie of D'Elia with a trunk full of napkins.
D'Elia recently explained to Billboard how he ended up on the song. Apparently, a week before "Homicide" dropped, his manager got a heads up that the two artists sampled the song and wanted to get his blessings. D'Elia quickly approved and didn't even ask for any sort of monetary compensation for it.
"I was like, ‘Nah, don’t do that [cut a check], just give it to ’em, it’s fine,” D’Elia said. “I don’t care, man. It’s a huge honor. I have money coming in other ways. I don’t need that. I’m not trying to make money in the rap world. It’s first an honor. I did my silly impression in my garage. I say, ‘have at it.’ I make money doing what I do.”
