‘American Psycho’ is a pop-rock anthem about heartbreak, honesty and closing a chapter in one’s love life by the works of Grammy-nominated superstar Marshmello, along with singer-songwriter Mae Muller and Trippie Redd.
It’s no wonder Marshmello knows how to create a good track, regardless of genre and the collaborators, and ‘American Psycho’ is no different. Constantly accumulating A-list names in the music industry as his collaborators, such as Bastille, Khalid, Jonas Brothers, Meghan Thee Stallion, Eptic and many many more, he’s back with another pop-rock track with London-based singer-songwriter Mae Muller and emo rap star Trippie Redd. The track is a story of heartbreak between two people who unravel their grudges and true emotions about their collapsing relationship. Mae and Trippie go back and forth, as she unravels her flaws and what she thinks of the relationship, while Trippie says his side of the story that’s ending. This leads to a catchy chorus with catchy lyrics, proving once again that Marshmello knows what to do in order to create a track many will be able to personally connect with. With the track, Marshmello and the two singers created a colorful music video directed by Raja Virdi.
For those who haven’t been keeping up with the Mello Man, he was busy with holding two Mainstage sets in the past two weeks of Tomorrowland 2022, and if you still want to catch him live, you can check his world tour dates here. ‘American Psycho’ came just after another brilliant collaboration between Marshmello and his old friend Khalid on the track ‘Numb’, a highly-anticipated summer track that already accumulated over 75 million streams and reached Billboard’s Hot 100. We don’t doubt for a second same fate will follow for ‘American Psycho’. In the meantime, the masked producer keeps listing new exciting collaborations inside the music industry and beyond, with a notable collab with Coca-Cola bringing a limited edition refreshing tastes of everyone’s favorite fizzy drink.
