Rapper Who Inspired The "For The D" Challenge Arrested For Putting Child In A Lyft

Back in 2017, a rising New Orleans bounce artist named GameOva Reedy found internet fame after her challenge went viral on social media. Before anyone knew it, folks like Erykah Badu, Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish, Justina Valentine, Cardi B, Regina King, and Gabrielle Union all had fun coming up with their own rhymes. GameOva Reedy, real name Reiona Oliver, was able to gain fans and followers who soon shared more rump-shaking bounce styled challenges online.

Oliver's name was back in headlines once again this week, but it wasn't good news. The 27-year-old mother was arrested on charges of child desertion after she placed her five-year-old son in a Lyft alone. According to the driver, Oliver told him to take the boy to school in NOLA. The driver claims he told Oliver that children had to be accompanied by an adult, but says the woman turned around and went home without returning. Instead of shuttling the boy to school, the driver took the child to a nearby sheriff's station.

According to reports, Oliver pulled a post-and-delete on Instagram where she shared a video explaining that she wasn't aware that kids couldn't ride without an adult. She also said she wasn't feeling well, otherwise she would have taken her child herself.
