Rhymefest's Donda's House Organization Officially Changes Its Name

Remember a few weeks ago when Chicago rapper and activist, Rhymefest, called outKanye West for not supporting the charity that bared his mother's name, and abandoning the youth Chicago?

Much has happened since then, with shots being fired on both sides the conflict. Tweets were exchanged, and histories were revealed, until the whole thing came to a breaking point, and Rhymefest and the other Donda's House members decided to separate from Kanye entirely. 

Today, according to Pitchfork, Donda's House revealed the results their re-branding. From now on, the organization will be referred to as "Arts Culture, Inc." While the non-prit may have removed Donda's name from their organization, they said in a statement that they still stand by her ideals.

"We will always respect the memory and example set by Dr. Donda West," said Donnie Smith, one the founders the organization. "We revere her work and were fortunate to have been taught by her. As we continue our work, we hope that this name change will represent an evolution the organization and will result in more service and greater impact."

"Over the last few months, due to Mr. West’s controversial public political statements, the organization received communications concern from sponsors, foundations and supporters. Students, alumni, volunteers and staff the group met Saturday to discuss recent developments and the future the organization," the organization said in a press release. "The group decided that the organization will maintain its mission, but will have a new name both to avoid confusion and honor the stated wishes the West family."
