Hardwell recently took to r/EDM for a AMA session on the subreddit, answering fans’ budding questions about his return and much more.
Since Hardwell made his explosive return to the scene, fans have obviously had a lot of questions since he switched up his style dramatically. Taking to Reddit to take part in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on the r/EDM sub, we’re looking at just a few of the most important pieces of information that he shared. Alongside this, he also exclusively released his ‘REBELS NEVER DIE‘ rework of ‘Spaceman‘ with the launch of his Discord server which you can join here. Check out some of the questions Hardwell answered below:
u/NowNewStart asked: What prompted you to make develop into this type of genre that we are now seeing on your new upcoming album?
To this question, Hardwell said “It all came naturally. I wanted to create the music I would like to hear on a festival, and that’s what I did.” In another question that the same user asked about the thought of bigroom in 2022, he said “I guess I’m still Bigroom too, but in a more evolved way. I’m kinda done with the standard/formula Bigroom track though.”
u/Which-Toe-8715 asked: What happened to the track ID Music Box from Tomorrowland 2014?
Certainly an ID that been sought after for years even to this day, the producer confirmed the future of it, saying “Martijn and I really think Musicbox is outdated, and we don’t feel like updating it, nor releasing it. If we wanna release something together, it should be some new and next level.”
u/charly-85 asked: What is the track you are most proud of in your career?
An answer that isn’t surprising, but definitely understandable, Hardwell said to this Reddit user “Spaceman really changed my life.”
u/its_woodyyy asked: Love the new style! Do you have an “official” name for it yet?
A term that has been thrown around between the community has been ‘Future Techno’, but Hardwell himself officially confirmed what he is calling it himself. “It’s a combination of so many different genres that I love the most, that it’s hard to give it just a simple name. I still prefer Bigroom Techno for now.”
From this Reddit AMA we have learned a lot more about the future of Hardwell, and why exactly he went in the direction that he did. To read all of it, you can check out the post here.
